• Postgrad ergonomics (City U, HK).
Dr Heidi Petrick’s unique approach is backed by an impressive array of qualifications and experiences:
Dr Petrick started her professional career 25 years ago in a large clinic in rural Australia, working mostly with farmers, miners and their families. Dr Petrick developed a love for working with the children & babies of these families; a focus that would find her being offered a position in a family-oriented clinic in Hong Kong in 2000. However, Hong Kong had different ideas for Dr Petrick, and her practice here quickly filled with athletes, office workers and teachers. In 2001 she was offered the chiropractic contract at the Hong Kong Football Club, which she retained for 12 years. She enjoyed the proactive attitude of the athletes, helping them to retain their highest levels of performance, and writing many articles for the Club Magazine to help the members understand their own health & structural concerns.
She completed a post-graduate course in ergonomics in 2005, using this to help her office worker patients to attain their most functional working postures, counterbalancing their work strains and prior injuries.
In 2007, Dr Petrick began to focus more on the neurology of chiropractic, extensively training in the clinical research of Neurophysiology. This ultimately led to her to graduate with distinction as a Diplomate of the International Academy of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine in 2020. This assists her medicolegal assessments of whiplash, nerve pain and many other spine related conditions.
Dr Petrick’s approach is methodical and detailed, and her treatments are gentle and targeted. In addition to working with cases of headache, dizziness and spinal pains, she is very interested in preventative care for teens: curtailing the effects of phone & screen postures on this generation’s growing spines.
